Q: Does invitation to submit an abstract to IAHSFF cover my costs?
A: No. The invitation to submit an abstract does not constitute an offer to pay any costs associated with attending the symposium or the production of your presentation (e.g., travel, food, accommodation or registration costs).
Q: Why should I submit my work to IAHSFF?
A: The IAHSFF is organized by the International Swimming Hall of Fame, a not-for-profit organization that is considered to be the “Mecca of Aquatics” and the official Hall of Fame of FINA. IAHSFF attempts to act as The Venue of a highly regarded, historic peer reviewed gathering of experts from the entire world, who will share their research findings, scholarly and artistic work on aquatic sports, activities from a historical perspective. Therefore, submission and presentation of your work to IAHSFF will not only give prestige to your work but it will also act as a means for preserving our international aquatic history heritage and will be a means of education for the new generations.
Q: Who is likely to attend IAHSFF?
A: A diverse number of people may be attending the symposium/film festival. These include past and present Hall of Fame honorees from all aquatic sports (i.e. Olympians and world winners, coaches etc), as well as water safety professionals, scholars, doctors, and members of the general public who like cinema and literature.
Q: Are there any prizes associated with best presentations to be given?
A: Yes. IAHSFF has established eight prestigious prizes that will be given to those presenting work that would be considered as extraordinary in terms of rigor, clarity, innovation and inspiration. For more details please click here.
Q: How is the weather in May?
A: The weather is fairly warm. You will be confortable if you bring with you summer clothes. The sea is 50m from all the hotels and the IAHSFF venue, so you may consider bringing with you a swim-costume. The beach is lifeguarded by a high quality team of the Ft. Lauderdale Lifeguards.
Q: What is the International Swimming Hall of Fame?
A: The International Swimming Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit educational organization located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (USA). Its mission is to promote the benefits and importance of swimming as a key to fitness, good health, quality of life, and the water safety of children. It accomplishes its goals through operation of the International Swimming Hall of Fame, a dynamic shrine dedicated to the history, memory, and recognition of the famous swimmers, divers, water polo players, synchronized swimmers, and persons involved in life saving activities and education, throughout the world, whose lives and accomplishments will serve to inspire, educate, and be role models for all those who participate in the Hall of Fame’s experience and programs.
